The Ududola Rainforest Cottages is a labour of love by the Dias family in their ancestral village in Meegahatenna.
It is a drive of 1hr and 40 minute from the Air port (BIA) and 1hr and 30 minute from the capital Colombo.
Nestled in the fringes of the Sinharaja forest, the land was where our grandparents Maddegama Arachchige Don Baron Appuhamy and Babanona Kularathna lived. Our father grew up here with love, warmth, great food, and in a typical Sri Lankan village. We will bring all of that to your experience when you visit us. It’s a place to do the bare minimum - listening to the sounds of nature, learning about 300-year-old trees, taking walks to the creek and waterfalls, visiting the village temple, reading, playing board games, and having actual conversations with loved ones. Exactly the way our ancestors lived. Sublime!
