Nestled in the fringes of the Sinharaja forest, this land was where our grandparents Maddegama Arachchige Don Baron Appuhamy and Babanona Kularathna lived. Our father grew up in this typical Sri Lankan village here with love, warmth, and great food. We will bring all that to your experience when you visit us. It’s a place to do the bare minimum - listening to the sounds of nature, learning about 300-year-old trees, taking walks to the natural creek and waterfalls, visiting the village temple, reading, playing board games, and having actual conversations with loved ones. Exactly the way our ancestors lived. Sublime!
Discover the serenity and tranquility of Ududola Rainforest Cottages. Nestled in nature's embrace, you'll breathe in the rich aroma of ancient 300-year-old trees right from your balcony. Listen to the gentle murmur of the nearby stream, the chirping of birds, and the playful antics of monkeys in the branches.
Sinharaja Rainforest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site nestled in the heart of Sri Lanka, is a mesmerizing haven of biodiversity and natural wonder and it's only an hour's drive from the cottages. Spanning over 8,000 hectares of lush tropical rainforest, it is one of the last remaining primary rainforests in the country. With its dense canopy, towering trees, cascading waterfalls, and vibrant wildlife, Sinharaja Rainforest promises an unforgettable journey into the heart of untamed wilderness and ecological marvel.
